Universal Practice launched in Melbourne in 2016 as a first of its kind medical model – all classes and treatments are lead by qualified Physiotherapists, grounded in science and proven to work. We offer Physiotherapy, Pilates, Strength, Yoga and Meditation in an environment that feels good to compliment wellbeing.
At Universal Practice we believe health is about the state of your whole. A philosophy that lies across all spheres of health, recognising the flow on affect of the mind, body and spirit. We respect the traditional academic medical model and draw inspiration holistically from nature and across cultures and centuries.
Physiotherapy examines the physical body, to address and identify underlying imbalances, insufficiencies and limitations. At Universal Practice we strongly believe in the interconnectedness of the whole body, providing a scientific and evidence based approach to healing, rehabilitation and optimising function.
All Pilates Classes at Universal Practice are taught by Physiotherapists, and are rebatable with Private Health Insurance. Pilates is an intelligent mind-body approach to improving posture, control, movement patterns and strength. Our classes are grounded in science, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, whilst encompassing the art of breath work, flow and advanced repertoire.
Led by Physiotherapists, our Strength & Conditioning stream is designed for end stage rehabilitation and those recovering from sports injury, cross training and general strengthening.
Ideal for all ages, athletes, sports players and those that feel strength in their every day life could be improved. We all need good quality strengthening, biomechanical retraining and mobility work to ensure our bodies are not subject to overuse injury, tendonopathy and stress reactions as well as making sure we are performing efficiently.
At Universal Practice, our Physiotherapists recognise the complexity and interconnectedness of our health. Science is now unravelling the ancient practice of yoga and meditation, to find tangible and explainable health benefits linked to awareness, breath, nervous system stimulation, strengthening, flexibility and functioning of our vital organs. This promotes healing and health of the body, balances the emotions and creates a clear thinking mind.
